PICO-CUBE
PICO-CUBE is an implementation of the pocket cube inspired by PICO-8 look and feel.
The pocket cube (2x2x2 Rubik’s cube) is a twisty puzzle consisting of 8 external corner pieces. To solve it you’ve got to turn each layer until all the faces have one single color. The cube can have 3 674 160 different positions, each can be solved in up to 14 turns.
The following notation is used to describe the rotation of the layers:
- U / U’ - UP (clockwise / anticlockwise)
- D / D’ - DOWN (clockwise / anticlockwise)
- L / L’ - LEFT (clockwise / anticlockwise)
- R / R’ - RIGHT (clockwise / anticlockwise)
- F / F’ - FRONT (clockwise / anticlockwise)
- B / B’ - BACK (clockwise / anticlockwise)
The game was coded completely in HTML5 (HTML + CSS + JS). The PICO-8 game engine wasn’t used at all (no Lua coding) and no picoCAD modelling either!
